fresh start

i'm daydreaming about fall today. about giving up old habits and starting fresh, about waking up and getting going.
it seems like there's a lot to do right now, right this second and i just need to hunker down and do it, and i like that feeling. the house is ready for living, the studio is ready for making, the spare room is ready for creative inhabitants. there is progress and electricity in the air, and it has started to rain, and i am ready for all of it.

we're getting ready for our first show in -the spare room project- and i'm glad to have something that seemed like it would never happen verging on actually happening. i will have more to update soon when all the artists are confirmed, as of now we're just patching holes and painting and such. you can check out our website in progress at www.thespareroomproject.net.

i'm also working on a collaborative commissioned piece for Southern Exposure, which is a new and nerve-racking experience. we're building what is essentially a security fence to seperate their office from the galleries, although we're building it out of recycled sheets that have wire cable embedded in them. it's a very tight deadline for someone who likes to leave ample time for failure in all their projects, so there's been a lot of finger crossing on my end.

and last but not least i'm finally working on getting my etsy store up and running. for whatever reason it has taken me months to get even close to actually putting stuff up on there, but i think i'm finally.. almost.. there. it could be another week or two, but i at least have a few things that are made and ready, albeit a definite mish-mash. you gotta start somewhere though, right?

yes. so there you go. it is supposed to rain all day friday, and i am happy because i've been very lazy about watering the garden and i still want to eat my last few tomatoes. and i have a date with erin tonight to drink hot toddies on top of bernal hill and if that isn't fall in san francisco, i don't know what is.
